About
It all started in 2010…
when Kate Miller had just returned to the US after working in India with environmental activist Dr. Vandana Shiva. Kate had been living there as part of her MA in Sustainable Development, and when she returned home to write her capstone she needed work that was meaningful, enjoyable, and flexible. She started growing herbs and vegetables on her parent’s land to earn some money while she finished writing. She presented her thesis the next Fall and never looked back; Weathertop Farm was born.

Since those early days, Kate has honed her skills and focused on the things that she loves to grow: medicinal and culinary herbs, and berries. She wildcrafts for food and medicine, and endeavors to make the farm a part of a healthy ecosystem rather than a monoculture. She has used her training as both a professional chef and a clinical herbalist to create a line of elixirs and health tonics, drink mixers and herbal teas that are not only delicious but good for you. As a strong believer in organic farming, she uses only organic and local ingredients whenever possible.
Weathertop Farmacy was our brick and mortar store for almost 4 years, but Kate and the team realized they prefer to be out on the road meeting customers face to face. They closed the store but continue to do pop up events and festivals around NY and New England. Stay tuned for the next iteration in the journey (coming soon!)
Weathertop Farm is a safe space for people of all backgrounds, and encourages intern applications and visits from our BIPOC, LGBTQ, and traveling community pals.
